The Regional Account Manager must be able to effectively manage a direct territory or our representative partners in a given region.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to maintain existing global/national accounts while further developing and growing a defined set of new customers within the assigned based territory. The desired candidate will be able to promote SAMSON Controls Flow Control offering along with our aftermarket support and services to the process control industries. A keen understanding of the Biotech and Food & Beverage industries in this territory is a must.  


Job Functions:

  • Develop, build, and maintain relationships with representative partners and key customers to strengthen and solidify purchasing agreements. Work closely with inside sales group to develop best quotation strategies.
  • Perform product sales presentations to all levels of customers including engineering, maintenance and procurement.
  • Assist in negotiation of commercial issues involved in the customer’s purchasing process.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of the SAMSON control valve product lines. Provide technical training and support for territory representatives.
  • Create and maintain territory sales plan.
  • Lead proactive pursuit of customer projects.
  • Provide feedback on customer wants and needs to SAMSON sales and product management teams.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and sustain growth in assigned account base.
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasts / reports for area of responsibility.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience serving the Biotech and Food & Beverage industry as well as other key markets involved in the process control industries.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage assigned territory.
  • Track record of meeting sales goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation experience and ability.
  • Relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Team oriented with ability to cooperate and work well with colleagues.
  • Willingness to learn and understand control valve products to effectively explain, select, apply, and sell technical and engineered solutions.

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Technical/Engineering degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years' industry experience.
  • 5+ years industrial selling experience.
  • Strong track record in a Sales or Market Development position with experience ideally within the Pharma/Biotech and Food & Beverage Market.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
